I am fifty-one and wanted to take a few guitar lessons. I was turn on to Jacob back in February of 2012 and go for thirty minute lessons once a week. I suppose there are hundreds of good teachers in the ares, but I think in Jacob I have found a good mix of what I need to know and what I want to know. In the short time that Jacob has been teaching me, I can now read music, know a little about theory, know enough chords to play hundreds of song! We spend a lot of time playing scales up and down the neck, this is called soloing. Its what you hear in most rock and blues with all the bends, hammer on, hammer off and slides. I take my lessons sometime with my acoustic and then my electric. I will never be able to play classical like Andres Segovia or shred like Slash, but with Jacobs help someday soon I will be able to play a ton of stuff. Each week he gives me more and more tools to help me to fulfill a dream I have had for as long as I can remember. Give Jacob a try and see if he's a good fit with what you want to accomplish. You may want to pay him just to play for you!
Jacob has lot of patience and is very understanding. His lessons are nicely organized and easy to pick up.
I have been taking lessons from Jacob for just over a year.
When I started I was a 59 year old guy who had never played guitar. I knew zip, nada, zilch. Now I am a 60 year old guy who can play guitar, around the house, with my grandkids, at family gatherings and to impress my Mom when I visit her.
The key to my success with Jacob was simply trying to do the things he told me to do. He provided me with the tools I needed to be able to enjoy playing the guitar.
I found him patient, tolerant of my limitations and fun. He has a tremendous amount to offer and would be cheap at twice the price.
Lesson with Jacob was good. I received some guidance to keep me moving in the right direction and was able to get some new things to focus on,
